Deploy a static site

Plain HTML, CSS and JS goes live as it is. Here's how to lay out the repo.

A static site is just files: HTML, CSS, JS, images. Clusra hosts them as they are, so there's nothing to configure beyond where the files live.

Repo layout

The simplest setup puts index.html at the top of the repo:

my-portfolio/
index.html
about.html
css/
  style.css
js/
  main.js
images/
  me.jpg

Leave Root directory as / and deploy. index.html is your home page.

Site inside a folder

If your files live in a folder like public or site, set Root directory to that folder, for example public. Only that folder goes live.

Deploy it

  1. 1
Go to New project and pick your repo and branch.
  2. 2
Choose Static HTML as the framework.
  3. 3
Leave Build command and Output directory empty. Set Root directory if you need to.
  4. 4
Click Deploy. Your site goes live on <name>.clusra.app.
  • Link pages with relative paths like about.html or /about.html.
  • File names are case sensitive. Logo.PNG and logo.png are different files.
  • Each folder can have its own index.html, so blog/index.html opens at /blog/.
